There is something true and sublime in eternity. But all these times and places and occasions are now and here. Throw yourself into every wave of the moment and find your eternity in each single hour.

Not Until Dawn

There is something true and sublime in eternity. But all these times and places and occasions are now and here. Throw yourself into every wave of the moment and find your eternity in each single hour.

Henry David Thoreau

Marie and Pierre Curie were out on their bicycles. They stayed in the gorge of the Truyère until dusk. A small boat was going downstream; a song drifted across to them from it and slowly grew fainter.

They had forgotten the time. On the way back, the horses of a cart shied at their bicycles. They had to swerve off across ploughed fields until they got back onto the road. Up on the plateau everything lay in moonlight. Cows that were spending the night out in the open came over and looked at the two of them.

They did not reach their lodgings until dawn.
