Whenever you undertake something, keep in mind what kind of thing it is. If you are going to the baths: there people splash, shove, curse and steal. So you will go more safely if you tell yourself: I want to bathe now — and in doing so keep my will in accordance with nature.

A Guest Needs a Path
Whenever you undertake something, keep in mind what kind of thing it is. If you are going to the baths: there people splash, shove, curse and steal. So you will go more safely if you tell yourself: I want to bathe now — and in doing so keep my will in accordance with nature.
Anansi and Fire were friends. After a meal at Fire's house, Anansi invited Fire to his own. Fire said it could not simply walk. Anansi would have to lay a trail of dry brushwood from one house to the other.
His wife, Ground Dove, warned him: Fire would burn his house down, and him with it. Anansi did not listen to her. He laid the path.
Fire came. In front of the house it made a great leap. It burned Anansi, his house and everything in it. Only Ground Dove was spared.
